What is Veritas Cluster?

Veritas Cluster main work of an Operating system in order to coordinates from the primary level to the advanced level. Cluster used to control the application of Operating system. If there is any failure in Operating system, it provides additional node to make the changes in our Veritas cluster. This cluster technique includes the three types like High Availability cluster, High Performance Computing cluster and local balancing cluster.

Cluster components


Resources are specified as a software and hardware entities, like disk group and file system, IP address, with the network interface and should monitor the resource.


Resource dependencies

This is the dependencies order in which the resource are taken as online and offline technique. In this VCS cluster terminology. This child resource should be in online or offline.


Resource categories

  • On – Off Technique- VCS import a disk group when it is required.
  • On -Only Technique- VCS starts On-only resource but does not stop them.
  • Persistent- These persistent resource cannot be bring through online and offline.
